Raw material preparation

Material selection: According to the performance requirements of the product, select suitable metal materials, such as bronze, 40Cr steel, etc., and ensure that the materials have quality certificates, and check whether the hardness, chemical composition and other indicators of the materials meet the standards.

Cutting: According to the design size and weight requirements, use cutting equipment (such as sawing machine, flame cutting machine, plasma cutting machine, etc.) to cut the raw materials into suitable blanks. Machining

Rough machining: The bushing blank after forging or casting needs to be rough machined to remove most of the allowance and approach the final size. Rough machining usually includes turning the outer circle, boring the inner hole, milling the end face and other processes. The equipment used includes ordinary lathes, boring machines, milling machines, etc. Rough machining can leave a machining allowance of 0.5-1mm for subsequent fine machining.

Fine machining: The bushing after rough machining is finely machined to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Finishing includes finishing the outer circle, finishing the inner hole, grinding and other processes, and may use CNC lathes, CNC boring machines, grinders and other precision processing equipment. For high-precision bushings, the dimensional tolerance of the inner hole and the outer circle can be controlled within ±0.01mm, and the surface roughness can reach Ra0.8-Ra1.6μm.

Drilling and tapping: According to the design requirements of the bushing, drilling and tapping operations are performed using drilling machines, tapping machines and other equipment to process various hole systems and threads such as mounting holes and oil holes.

Heat treatment

Quenching: Heat the bushing to above the critical temperature, keep it warm for a certain period of time, and then cool it quickly to increase the hardness and strength of the bushing. Quenching media usually include water, oil, brine, etc. Different materials and products require different quenching media and quenching process parameters.

Tempering: There is a large internal stress inside the bushing after quenching, and it is more brittle, so tempering treatment is required. Tempering is to heat the bushing to a certain temperature range below the critical temperature, keep it warm for a certain period of time, and then slowly cool it to eliminate internal stress, reduce brittleness, stabilize the structure and size, and improve the toughness and comprehensive performance of the bushing.

Surface treatment

Phosphating: Phosphating is to form a layer of phosphate chemical conversion film on the surface of the bushing, which can improve the corrosion resistance, lubricity and wear resistance of the bushing. The phosphating process includes degreasing, rust removal, surface conditioning, phosphating, passivation and other processes.

Blackening treatment: Blackening treatment is to form a layer of black oxide film on the surface of the bushing, which is mainly used to improve the appearance quality and certain corrosion resistance of the bushing. Commonly used blackening methods are alkaline oxidation and acid oxidation.
